CrossFit Experience: I started Evolved in February and joined as an unlimited member in March.
Favorite WOD/Exercise: Anything with the barbell and any partner workout!
Least Favorite WOD/Exercise:Burpees and the assault bike, maybe once my cardio improves I will like them, but I doubt it!!
Tell us about yourself.
I’m Amber Moore and I’m 39 years old. The extent of my athleticism was cheerleading from 7th-12th grade. I have a masters degree is social service administration and I am employed at summit county children services as a supervisor. Previously I was a child welfare intake Worker and a community mental health worker. I live in Barberton with my husband of 18 years and our 2 dogs Lola and Roxie and our cat Sheldon.
Why did you start CrossFit?
I was invited to bring a friend workout by Kristine Ruiz.
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?
The coaches, the other athletes, and doing things I never thought I could ever do!
What is a PR (Personal Record) that you are proud of?
I recently deadlifted 185lbs and back squatted 135lbs!
What motivates you to CrossFit?
Feeling better about myself, getting stronger, and that the workout is different everyday!
What goals would you like to achieve in the next year that CrossFit can help you with?
I will climb the rope and do handstand push-ups!
What would you tell someone who was thinking about starting CrossFit, but was nervous or scared?
Once you walk into the door you won’t want to leave. I was intimidated and didn’t know what to expect but everything can me Modified and the team environment pushes you to give it your all and keep coming back! And now I am one of the crazy 5 am ers!!
